Real Madrid Striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar Attracts Lyon Interest

Jean-Michel Aulas is hopeful that, after some long-term admiration, Klaas-Jan
Huntelaar could make a switch to Lyon.

Olympique Lyonnais chairman Jean-Michael Aulas has admitted his admiration
for Real Madrid striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and hopes that, with the Dutch
contingent looking set for an exit from the Spanish capital, that picking the
striker up is a possibility.

Lyon's seven-year reign as Ligue 1 champions came to an end last season, and
with Karim Benzema being linked to numerous big-name clubs, the French side
are looking to bolster their attacking options for the next domestic campaign.

Newly appointed Real Madrid president Florentino Perez reportedly wants to
sell many of the Holland-born players in the squad, and Aulas remains hopeful
that OL can pick up one or two of the Dutch internationals.

"Huntelaar is a very interesting player for us," Setanta Sports quote the
Frenchman as saying.

"He is an interesting player who we have followed for a long time.Unfortunately
we have not been able to convince him to join us.

"His profile interests us but, you know, the less you talk about transfers the
better!

"[Royston] Drenthe and [Arjen] Robben are also interesting players. We may
have a discussion with Madrid on these matters."
