Liverpool reject bid for defender
Liverpool have rejected a ￡4.2million bid for defender Alvaro Arbeloa from
Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Liverpool received a bid from Real Madrid on Wednesday and have now rejected
it.
Reds manager Rafa Benitez has insisted he has offered the Spaniard a new
contract but if there is a good offer, he will consider it.
Benitez is looking to hold out for at least ￡5million, following the capture
of ￡17million-worth England internation Glen Johnson from Portsmouth.
The former Deportivo La Coruna defender has just one year remaining on his
contract with Liverpool
