Real Madrid appear to be closing in on highly-rated Getafe midfielder Pedro
Leon with AS reporting that the player's representatives were at the
Bernabeu yesterday for talks.
The 23-year-old right-sided midfielder has enjoyed a remarkable season for
los Azulones since arriving from Valladolid last summer, scoring eight times
in the Primera Liga, prompting calls for him to be included in Vicente del
Bosque's Spain squad for the World Cup in South Africa.
Italian giants Milan are also reported to be one of a number of foreign clubs
keen on landing Leon but it appears that los Merengues have taken pole
position in the race to sign the Murcia-born star.
He is under contract with Geta until 2014 but Madrid are unlikely to be
deterred by his contractual buyout clause which sits at a mere €10 million.
