Iker Casillas Fernández 6.0
Made a couple of decent saves in the first half, but a fairly quiet
night for the Spanish number one.
Arbeloa 6.0
Did not get forward as much as Sergio Ramos would have, but kept it
tight at the back and supported sporadically.
Pepe 6.5
Great tackle to nick the ball away from Apono in the first half and grew
into the game, snuffing out any Malaga attacks.
Ricardo Carvalho 6.5
Covered Pepe well and looked assured, though he did give away a dangerous
free-kick in the first period.
Marcelo 6.5
Started a number of attacks from left back and supported the forwards
at every opportunity. Still needs to work on his defensive ability though.
Sami Khedira 7.0
Excellent midfield performance from the German and one of his best in
the Real Madrid shirt. Drove forward well, linked with the attack and
hit the crossbar.
Xabi Alonso 6.0
Not his usual self, did not control the game as he normally would but
his eye for a pass was still in evidence.
Mesut Özil 8.0
Very dangerous when drifting in from the flanks. Made an assist for
the second goal and generally ran the show for Madrid. Ronaldo may have
stole the headlines but Oezil was more influential.
Ángel Fabián Di María 6.5
Almost scored in the first half with a looping effort and looks far
more dangerous on the right cutting in.
Gonzalo Gerardo Higuaín 7.5
He hit the post from the edge of area before going on to bag a brace.
A good night's work.
Cristiano Ronaldo 8.0 Top of the Match
What else can you say? He provided the cross for the first goal, scored
the second and third then assisted the fourth.
