"The San Jose Mercury News reported Tuesday that Barry Bonds has retained two
lawyers to defend him against potentially false and defamatory statements, and
that Curt Schilling's recent comments on HBO's "Costas Now" about Bonds were
foremost on the agenda.
"This is directed at Schilling more than anybody," attorney Michael Rains told
the paper. Rains is representing Bonds in the BALCO grand jury investigation.
"Schilling said some things that were inappropriate and potentially defamatory.
I know it was upsetting to Barry
