Kevin Millar insisted that Edwar Ramirez was lucky the umpire ejected him
from the Yankees’ 13-3 rout of the Orioles Wednesday at the Stadium. The
Orioles first baseman was steaming after the reliever’s first pitch of the
seventh inning came inside and high, sailing over and behind his head. Later
in the clubhouse, he fired a shot right back at Ramirez.

“He’s a cute little fella,” Millar said of the very thin Ramirez. “He
doesn’t throw very hard and doesn’t have very good stuff. It was probably a
good idea that they did throw him out because it would probably have been (a
shot to) Monument Park.

“He’s good hittin’.”
