Mint Condition Finds New 'Life'

Mint Condition, known best for their '90s R&B hits "Breakin' My Heart (Pretty

Brown Eyes)" and "What Kind of Man Would I Be," is back with its ninth album,

"e-Life," due May 6. The set will arrive via a joint venture between the

band's own label, CagedBird Records, and Image Entertainment.

"e-Life" is Mint Condition's first release since 2005's "Living the Luxury

Brown," which hit No. 1 on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart. It

includes collaborations with Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Phonte from Lil Brother and

Anthony Hamilton, who is featured first single "Baby Boy, Baby Girl."

Other tracks include the ultramodern-sounding "Why Do We Try," the mid-tempo "

Golddigger" and "Nothing Left To Say," about a failed relationship.

The group is plotting a spring U.S. promo tour, plus visits to Europe and

Japan in the coming months. In addition, Mint Condition members are scouting

new talent for the label, including an experimental jazz combo in which they

will appear.
