(註)古猶太人崇拜Moloch神，將小孩丟棄在希嫩山谷(Valley of Hinnom)作為祭品
後來此處就被認為是世所遺棄的地方，並且在四處點燃火炬，日夜燃燒，以防止黑死病發
生，從此希嫩這個字就相當於地獄、煉獄的意思。
