Ariza spends fourth quarter on bench, but Rockets lose again anyway

Rick Adelman finally pulled the plug on Trevor Ariza,
playing him just 23 minutes and leaving him on the bench in the fourth
quarter
during a dispiriting 102-95 loss to the Hawks Monday night.
Adelman終於把Ariza放在板凳上, 整場比賽只出場了23分鐘, 第四節完全沒上場,
卻還是以102-95輸給了老鷹.

Much was made of the Ron Artest-for-Ariza swap last summer.
Some of us thought the Rockets got the better of the deal.
So far, it hasn't worked out.
Ariza與Artest的交易, 有些人或許會覺得火箭隊賺到了,
但是至少目前看起來好像不適這樣.

Incidentally, any evaluation of Ariza has nothing to do with Artest,
who wasn't a good fit for this version of the Rockets.
He's just too unpredictable and too volatile in a locker room with so many
players being counted on
for the first time in their NBA careers.

Ariza's issues begin with 38'percent shooting, including 30 percent from
3-point land.
He shot 36 percent in November and December,
and has improved all the way to 39 percent in January.

11月與12月只有三成六, 一月進步到三成九.

Adelman has urged him to focus on rebounding and playing defense,
and to stop worrying about his offense.
There are nights when he's taking fewer shots overall,
but with the Rockets having lost 7 of 11, they need offense,
especially when the defense has been so sluggish for stretches.
Adelman鼓勵他把精力放在籃板球與防守上面, 而先別擔心自己的進攻.
有幾場比賽他的出手次數減少了,

It'll be interesting to see how Adelman adjusts his rotation for Wednesday's
game against the Nuggets.
Will we see less of Ariza and more of Chase Budinger?
Will he work Joey Dorsey or Jermaine Taylor into the mix?
Only Adelman and his staff know how those guys have done in practice,
but something needs changing.

in the Western Conference,
and at the moment, both those teams are playing better.
The Rockets knew this would be a challenging season from the moment
they realized they might not have Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming.
Players like Aaron Brooks and Kyle Lowry are being counted on for a full
season for the first time.
Hey, no one promised you a rose garden.
火箭與雷霆還有黃蜂共居西區第九的戰績, 不過另外兩支球隊的現況比我們好多了.
我們知道這個沒有MM的球季是很有挑戰性的.
像Brooks與Lowry這樣的球員被賦予重任, 還是先不要期望太高了.

It'll be interesting to see how Daryl Morey is able to change the roster at
the trading deadline.
For the last year, he has positioned the franchise to make an impact move
after this season,
but he surely would like to do something before then.
