The term "Rick Adelman offense" was always a euphemism for "Rick Adelman's
Sacramento offense."
或許對於很多人來說, "Adelman的進攻模式" 就等同於 "Adelman在國王隊時期的進攻模
式".

It really did not describe his offense with the Trail Blazers.
It certainly did not cover his offense with the Rockets when Yao Ming played.
Even now, with Yao out, there are some similarities, but loads of
differences,
too from the offense he ran with the Kings.
其實他在帶領拓荒者的時候是大不相同的.
同樣的, 有姚明在陣中的火箭隊也有不同的地方.
即使是現在姚明缺席, 火箭隊的打法儘管跟當年的國王有點類似, 但是仍然有所不同.

If anything, Adelman prides himself for an ability to adapt to the talent on
hand,
from the Clyde Drexler-Buck Williams Blazers,
to the Chris Webber-Mike Bibby Kings and the Yao Ming-Tracy McGrady Rockets.

There are some things, however, that Adelman wants from any offense.
Just as Jeff Van Gundy would believe after any loss that the Rockets could

Adelman will always want better movement of players and the ball.
His offense, however, has been based on his players.

The Rockets made the deal because they desperately needed a perimeter scorer.
No one that sat through the game in Miami, gluttons for punishment that they
obviously must be, could argue that.
Assuming they were not getting one of the max-contract superstars next off
season, which is a very safe assumption,
Martin gives them what they needed most.

A stat that might indicate what he offers is that he is the first player ever

Martin is a guy that moves without the ball, backcuts hard and can score off
the dribble or pass.
He is far from the playmaker that McGrady was, but all that motion does help
create open shots around him.

In many ways, that has been the Rockets' greatest shortcoming offensively.

play off Yao Ming next season,
but should help others, particularly Shane Battier, Chase Budinger or Trevor
Ariza, get open looks they clearly need.
It won't hurt Brooks or Scola to get a few more easy shots a night, either.

he did defend well to get on the floor. His lack of bulk will always be an
issue against some players,
but he can keep an opposing ball-handler in front of him and make them show
they can make outside shots,
the basics of the Rockets' defensive style.

of the "Rick Adelman offense" will enjoy its return.

Don't be surprised if Tracy McGrady does well with the Knicks.
Coming back from so much time away, the expectations will be more reasonable
than typical
when a player with his name and history goes to New York.

離開了球場那麼久, 人們比較不會再對他的盛名抱以如此大的期望.

He won't have to be a consistent force to show promise,
and his skills should give him enough good nights for what he does well to be
blown out of proportion.

Next season, is the key, of course.
That's when he can hope to get some of the explosiveness back.
Not everybody does, as the Knicks know well with their history with Allan
Houston,
but very few get it back in their first year after microfracture surgery.

If McGrady can show enough to be another enticement to big-time free agents

The time had clearly come to move on, with the Rockets now in the final 30
games of his contract.
But things might work out for everybody. The Rockets like the deal, picking
up an upper-echelon scorer in his prime.
McGrady has to like where he landed, getting with a team that will give him
every chance to work his way back this season,
and could put him with some top talent next season.
For all the debate his last season inspired, and even his own frustration at
how he was being slowly worked back in, things all sort of worked out.
The Rockets got what they wanted. McGrady got what he needed. And the game in
the Garden next month should be a lot of fun.
如果TMac表現的夠好, 也還能夠成為相當吸引人的自由球員,
也或許能夠讓他在有著明星球員的球隊裡落腳.

Skipping from the trade deadline, past the draft and all the way to free
agency,
Rockets GM Daryl Morey declared that the Rockets will sign Luis Scola and
Kyle Lowry next summer.
Both are restricted free agents. They always were going to be back, but with
no idea who else would be fill their spots,
they already seemed more certain to be back.
Morey說下個球季他會搞定Scola與Lowry.

He added, however, that he believes the Rockets can still be heavy hitters in
free agency, citing the cap room other teams created,
and the assets the Rockets collected if they have someone wanting to enlist
in a sign-and-trade.
他還提到, 火箭隊仍然還在找尋適合的自由球員,
也不排除先簽後換的可能.

Those don't happen often, but Morey said he would be able to make good use
out of Tracy McGrady's expiring contract and pulled that off.
"Today's moves," he said, "makes us more of a player, not less"
OK, but he might want to get some sleep first.
Morey認為他對於TMac的處理做的還不錯.
或許他可以好好睡上一覺了.
