Pitcher Chin-Hui Tsao, ineligible to compete in the Olympic qualifying
tournament two months ago, could have another opportunity to represent
his native country. Even without Tsao, the only Taiwanese pitcher to
reach the major leagues, the national team qualified for the 2004
Olympic Games in Athens.
To be eligible, Tsao would have to be in the minor leagues when rosters
for the games are set, a condition he failed to meet last summer because
he was on the disabled list with a hamstring injury.
Tsao is expected to start the season at Triple-A Colorado Springs.
