Looking to re-establish his value, left-handed relief pitcher Ray King
agreed in principle today to a one-year, $800,000 contract with the
Washington Nationals.
King, one of baseball's most durable relievers, went 1-4 with a 4.43 ERA
in 67 games for the Rockies.
"I know some people over there, and this a chance for me to get back to
where I'm pitching in 70 to 80 games again," King said. "I'm looking
forward to the opportunity to ride that horse again."
The Rockies elected not to bring back King, instead re-signing Tom Martin.
