[問題] 字串的串接

我將含有中文字的字串與其他字串相加的時候
會發生錯誤訊息
incompatible character encoding: UTF-8 and ASCII-8BIT
<Encoding::COmpatibError>
請問這個該怎麼處理呢
我使用的版本是 Ruby 1.9.1
