Next Generation TOEFL: Focus on Communication Assessments today need to
provide more and better information about an applicant's ability to use
language. The TOEFL program has met the challenge with a new comprehensive
test that assesses all four language skills.
July 2004 - Practice and familiarization. Students and teachers will be
introduced to the next generation TOEFL on the Web. One full-length test
form will be available initially. The test will be unproctored, and scores
will be reported to the examinee only.
September 2005 - For admission purposes. Next generation TOEFL will be
administered at official ETS test centers. The test will be proctored, and
scores will be reported directly to the institutions.
Next generation TOEFL is more than just a test. Sophisticated
teaching/learning tools that support English language learning
Comprehensive assessment of communicative competence Test assesses all four
language skills Tasks integrate all four skills Content simulates actual
university experiences (texts, language) Score reports provide descriptors
of test taker's ability Score descriptors are based on empirical and
psychometric data Next generation TOEFL scoring Three-digit composite score
(Reading, Writing, Listening)
Provides "benchmark" to assist score users to evaluate applications
Provides meaningful link to current TOEFL score requirements

就我的理解是, Jul 2004 會釋出模擬考題給大家瞭解新制度的考試
Sep 2005 會正式由 ETS 寄發新制度成績給學校
所以學校正式採用新制度成績應該是 Sep 2005 或之後
視各校政策應該會有所不同
