Carrie Bradshaw
Job:
Sex columnist and "sexual anthropologist" for The New York Star.
Personality:
Carrie is upbeat and insightful, with an astute understanding of
the inner workings of the world around her.
It's all about subtext for Carrie; what's written between the lines
and everything left unsaid. Life is nothing other than a jigsaw puzzle
for the MENSA crowd, and its beauty only fully appreciated through
persistent people-watching, people-analyzing and intensive gab-fests
with the girlfriends.
Funniest Line:
"You may be able to fake an orgasm, but you can't fake intimacy."
The Actress behind Carrie
Sarah Jessica Parker made a name for herselfin such 80's classics
as Girls Just Want To Have Fun and Footloose.
Since then, her career has thrown her into a variety of venues, ranging
from the Tony-nominated Broadway production of Once Upon a Mattress,
to films like Miami Rhapsody and the First Wives Club. Parker has also
worked extensively in off-Broadway theatre, and has been seen on numerous
television series. This year, she was honoured with the Golden Globe award
for Best Actress for her portrayal of the inquisitive Carrie Bradshaw.
Parker can be next seen opposite Alec Baldwin and William H. Macy in
David Mamet's satire Slate and Main.
Apart from acting, Parker is building on her political repertory as a member
of the Hollywood Women's Political Committee and as the Special Representative
for the Performing Arts for UNICEF. In 1995, she was awarded the American Civil
Liberties Union Award. Parker currently lives in New York with her husband and
fellow actor, Matthew Broderick.
