Valencia bid on Kovacevic

Lazio didn't only announce that the debt to Valencia has been solved and that
Massimo Oddo will move to Valencia on loan, but the club also announced this
evening that Valencia yesterday made an official bid for the striker Darko
Kovacevic, who this season is on loan from Lazio to Real Sociedad.
The Yugoslav striker is doing great in the team that currently is on top of
the Spanish league. Valencia's bid is to get the striker for next season, which
means Kovacevic will keep playing at Real Sociedad the whole season.
The bid from Valencia is of USD 12 million. Lazio has not yet accepted the bid
but Lazio wouldn't have any reason to turn the offer down, unless Real Sociedad
could come up with a higher bid, which looks unlikely as they were not sure if
they could afford Kovacevic's wage this season when he is on loan.
