Perugia have confirmed that Roberto Baronio will stay at the club despite
more criticism from President Luciano Gaucci.
The midfielder was blamed for the 1-0 defeat against Juventus on Sunday after
he was introduced as a late substitute.
"When Baronio came on with just two minutes left he upset the balance of the
side," said the Umbrian chief.
"On the rare occasions that he has played for us he hasn急 brought us that
much luck. He played two minutes against Juventus and we lost. He played a
half against Lazio and we conceded twice.
"Maybe it has got something to do with his shirt number. Seeing as he wears
the No 13 I think we will burn it."
But Perugia general administrator Alessandro Gaucci ?son of Luciano ?claims
that the former Under-21 international will see out the season at the Renato
Curi.
"The club will be active on the transfer market in January but Baronio will
not be involved in this at all. He is staying," he said.
Baronio arrived at the Grifoni this summer from Lazio. However, he is still
part owned by the capital outfit.
Juventus collected the points at the Stadio Curi yesterday when Mauro
Camoranesi netted the only goal of the game in the 91st minute.

But mostly the swiftness of time
is a joke; on us. The flame-moth
