Roberto Mancini believes Lazio will give Milan real problems at the San Siro
and emerge victorious.
"I feel that we will have a great performance tonight,” commented the Coach,
“and at the end of the day we will win. This game is crucial to our future
and cannot be taken lightly.”
The Biancocelesti are unbeaten on their travels this season, but Milan are
yet to yield on home turf.
“The Rossoneri are a strong side packed with quality players. I know this.
But Lazio can be described with the same terms and with a good showing we can
beat them.”
Mancini was never lacking in confidence as a player and, although aware that
his team are the underdogs going to the San Siro having not won here since
1989, attempted to boost morale.
“I know my players and I am convinced we can do it. They are concentrated
and worked very well during training this week.”
The two teams drew 1-1 at the Stadio Olimpico earlier this season in a
fast-paced match and the Coach promises more attacking football.
“This Lazio side was not built to contain opponents,” he pointed out.
“If we have reached this point it is because wherever we are, the team
always tries to go for the win. I’d prefer to take a risk and lose rather
than play safe and get a point.”
