Lazio striker Goran Pandev is heading for a move to Premier League side
Tottenham Hotspur, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
The hitman returned from injury in last week's Coppa Italia triumph, however,
he may not be wearing the Aquilotti jersey next season. The report suggests
Lazio's deal for Mauro Zarate has left president Claudio Lotito looking to
recover some funds. The chief is likely to keep captain Tommaso Rocchi and
sacrifice Pandev in order to acquire a decent transfer kitty for the summer.
Voices surrounding Pandev claim Spurs are keen on him. The player's current
deal expires in 2011 and it is suggested the Aquile want to cash in on him
now in order to obtain a good price.
Previous reports suggested Pandev would be rewarded with a new contract,
however, the club have not moved in to secure his services.
Lotito paid around €20 million for Zarate from Al-Sadd and Pandev's possible
sale would help him balance the books, according to Italian reports.
