As well as a breathtaking live concert experience, ‘Too Close For Comfort’
manages to reveal the private and normally guarded side of a performer at a
crossroads in his musical career. From the first ever solo tour in 2002 to
the present day, ‘Too Close For Comfort is a candid, funny and sometimes
painfully honest account of Darren Hayes’ journey.
The first ever Darren Hayes documentary concert film was captured during his
2002 ‘Too Close For Comfort’ tour. Filmed over the entirety of the UK and
European leg and culminating in two glorious nights at London’s Hammersmith
Apollo Theatre – the film has been in and out of the editing room for the
past three years.
The Film, directed by Grant Marshall, is unique in its approach. Not just a
typical concert film – ‘Too Close For Comfort’ features a radical approach
to presentation of the performance. It comprises footage from each and every
night of the tour.
As well as a truly up close and personal approach to recreating the live
experience, Darren has for the first time ever let camera capture his
personality off stage like no one has ever seen…
