Monica was back on the tennis courts this week but she did not help the
New York Sportimes, her World TeamTennis team.
Thursday, against the Delaware Smash, Seles lost 5-4(3) against
Samantha Reeves. In mixed doubles, Monica Seles and Hermes Gamonal lost 5-4(4)
to David Wheaton and Liezel Huber.
In women's doubles, Monica Seles and Bea Bielik lost 5-2 against
Liezel Huber and Samantha Reeves. The Smash beat the Sportimes 23-19.
Seles played 3 more matches on Friday against the New York Buzz.
Unfortunately, she did not win a single match.
Viktoriya Kutuzova easily defeated her 5-0.
In women's doubles, Bielik/Seles lost 5-2 to Kutuzova/Stewart.
In mixed doubles, Seles/Gamonal lost 5-4(4) to Bower/Stewart.
The Buzz won 24-12.
Monica will have another chance to win a match tonight as the Sportimes
meets the Newport Beach Breakers. Maria Sharapova,
the 2004 Wimbledon champion, play for the Breakers.
