Sixers want to keep momentum

七六人想要維持氣勢。

It may not sound like much, but the team has won two games in a row. Saturday
night's victory ended a six-game road skid.

聽起來可能不是很多，但是這個球隊巳經連贏了兩場比賽。星期六的勝利終結了客場六連

While you usually would not find the terms delightful bus ride and New Jersey
Turnpike in the same sentence, the 76ers made the trip back to Philadelphia
late Saturday night happy in knowing they had done a pretty good weekend's work.

The Sixers won both ends of their back-to-back games, holding off the Charlotte
Bobcats at home on Friday night and coming up with a big 107-95 victory in New
Jersey, knocking off the team that rates as the big dog, relatively speaking,
of a mediocre Atlantic Division.

The two victories marked the first winning streak of any kind for the Sixers
since a six-game stretch of victories ended Nov. 18.

Saturday night's win was big on several levels. The Sixers broke a six-game
road losing streak. They defeated the team rated as the preseason favorite in
the Atlantic. They didn't go through any crisis of confidence in the fourth
quarter, keeping the Nets from mounting a significant threat.

And they built up some momentum heading into a stretch of three straight home
games this week, beginning with tonight's contest against the Minnesota

The Sixers shot a season-high 56.9 percent against the Nets. Allen Iverson, who
poured in 42 points after a 43-point performance against Charlotte, went 15 of
28 from the field, established a season best with four three-point baskets, and
tied his season high of 12 assists.

"It means a lot to us because they're wins, regardless if they're back-to-back
or not," Iverson said. "Them being back-to-back is even better because a lot of
times the guys tend to come into back-to-back games a lot more tired than they
usually are.

Another significant development was the play of Kyle Korver. Korver finished
the weekend 19 of 24 from the field overall and 10 of 12 from three-point
territory after scoring 26 and 25 points in the two games.

Korver raised his scoring average from 10.2 to 11.7 points. That's comparable
to his 11.8-point average after 21 games last season, even though he has 13
fewer three-point baskets this season.

"Last year, I got a lot of trail threes [on the fastbreak] when Allen would
throw it back to me," Korver said. "I really haven't had many of those this

compared to last season. I'm still trying to get around the same amount of
points, so it's not that much different.

can start breaking like this again - and it's all rebounding and defense - we
can fill the lanes or come from behind Allen and get those little flip passes
and shoot. That's fun basketball to me."

The Sixers outrebounded both of their opponents, meaning they are 7-0 when they
win the battle of the boards. However, they managed just a season-low three
offensive rebounds against the Nets, or as many as New Jersey reserve Scott
Padgett had in 11 minutes, 32 seconds on the floor.
