CAN WE talk? Can we not wring our hands over a 2-5 trip?Can we accept that the
76ers' toughest, most grueling travel is out of the way, and that they're
within a game of .500? Can we remember that my number at the start was 44? That
would put them six wins over .500 at the finish, enough to reach the playoffs.
Did you think they were better than that? I agree with colleague John Smallwood
that they could be better if they added a player of significance, but I prefer
to be a bit more pragmatic. Tell me which player they'll be adding; tell me
exactly how they plan to get that player.

我們來聊聊吧。七六人客場拿下2勝5敗，我們能不為他們緊張嗎？我們可以接受
他們在艱困、嚴苛的客場征戰表現不佳，現在勝率已經低於五成嗎？記得開季前，

And don't tell me you're planning to trade Andre Iguodala or Samuel Dalembert,
because that's not happening. And before you suggest trading Kyle Korver, scan
the roster and tell me who the next-best shooter is. (And while you're at it,
look up the complicated base-year compensation rules.) Allen Iverson, who
somehow hasn't lost a step in his 10th season, can't last forever; if Chris
Webber, already in his 13th season, is here for another two full-scale seasons,
it would be a plus. When the next franchise player - whether it is Iguodala or
someone else - is in place, at least there will be a young core around him.

不要告訴我你想把Andre Igoudala或Samuel Dalembert交易出去，因為這不會發生。

shooting statistics. Friday night's 3-for-4 shooting against the Los Angeles
Lakers brought him up to 7-for-26 on the Western swing, 12-for-50 in the last
10 games.

that does not send them careening too far beyond the luxury-tax trigger point.
The counterpoint to that, of course, is that Feb. 23 might be too late. Didn't
we learn that after Webber arrived last season?

Here's my view from the press table:

Allen Iverson: He had terrific numbers last season, winning his fourth scoring
title. He's playing better this season. Does he sometimes take too many shots?
Does he gamble too much in the passing lanes? Sure. But it's his 10th season.
Deal with it. If you don't like him now, you will after he retires. That's when
you'llrealize what you had.

Allen Iverson：他上個賽季有很棒的數據表現，也贏得第四座得分王頭銜，

Chris Webber: The Sixers finally found an offensive player who complements
Iverson (with apologies to Toni Kukoc, who just never seemed to like the
environment). He can still score, rebound and pass, and he gives them a
high-post fulcrum that they haven't had. Isn't that why they acquired him?

Chris Webber：七六人終於找到可以補足Iverson的進攻球員（對於Kokuc只能

Andre Iguodala: Here's what we know: He can run, jump, dunk and defend, and has
a grasp of all the schemes. He can spot up for shots, albeit inconsistently,
and that may be a function of infrequency. He needs to add a runner to his
repertoire, an ability to shoot on the move.

Kyle Korver: In the 13 games preceding Friday's, he had drained 41 of 71
three-pointers. In the first five games out West, he knocked down 15 of 26.
It took a while, but the Sixers have begun using "trailer" plays, when a
teammate - usually Iverson - drops the ball behind for Kor-ver's remarkably
quick release. I won't argue if you say he should play fewer minutes, but I
don't see a viable option right now. He's got a special skill. Use it.

one who said he got 22 rebounds against Phoenix in part because of the pace the
Suns established. He came back with four in slightly more than 35 minutes
against the Lakers.

Samuel Dalembert：很可惜這位海地黑旋風沒有在費城的籃球場或青年聯盟打球成長，
不然他一定會比現在進步更多。他需要發展出值得仰賴的攻擊模式，但是這個我們

John Salmons: It might just be body language, but he seems to have hit a wall.

Steven Hunter: He wants to get it done, but doesn't seem to know how; in more
than 8 minutes against the Lakers, he didn't get a single rebound.

Lee Nailon: He knows how; he just hasn't.

envisioned the first time they acquired him.

Michael Bradley: He had a good, solid start, then fell behind rookie Shavlik
Randolph.

Shavlik Randolph: He had been the surprise of the season. The trip,
though, was a reality check. With Webber out, he had to start against the Suns,
which was probably too much to ask.

Kevin Ollie: As steady and smart as ever as a fourth guard.

Louis Williams: Stop asking why the Sixers haven't assigned him to their
Roanoke affiliate in the "D League," because it doesn't appear they're going
to do that.

Add it all up, and I still think there's a good chance of reaching 44
victories, although it might be more difficult than I anticipated if they don't
add a player.

I know you want more. So do they. See me in 6 weeks. We'll talk again.
