WASHINGTON - Allen Iverson walked off the court at the MCI Center yesterday
frustrated and confused. He is frustrated over the 76ers' inconsistency and
confused about what he can do to change things.

The Sixers pretty much went through the motions of their worst offensive game
of the season, establishing season lows for points, field goals made and
shooting percentage in a 104-76 stomping by the Washington Wizards before a

Sixers coach Maurice Cheeks expressed anger over a lack of effort from his
players, termed the way his team got beaten "ridiculous," and said he would do
"something a little different" to try to get things turned around, although he
offered no specifics.

Cheeks would be wise to do something. This was awful. The Sixers, who shot 33.3

decisive third, the Sixers grabbed one rebound to 10 for Washington.

loss-win-loss-win-loss. Yesterday, they had no momentum left over from Friday
night's triple-overtime victory over Boston.

Cheeks didn't like anything he saw in the second half, especially considering
that the Sixers trailed by only 47-45 at the break.

rebounding, making shots. They were up 20 and they were still outrebounding us.

Asked how he felt about his coach criticizing a lack of effort, Webber replied:

Andre Iguodala scored a team-high 18 points and probably was the Sixers' best
player. But Cheeks thought the game turned around in the third quarter when
Iguodala fouled Gilbert Arenas almost 30 feet from the basket as Arenas threw
up a desperation three-point attempt with one second left on the shot clock.
Arenas sank all three free throws, boosting Washington's lead to 10, 65-55,
with 6:28 to play in the quarter.
