Cheeks admits loss led to yelling in locker room

Maurice Cheeks acknowledged last night there were "loud exchanges" in the
76ers' locker room after his team suffered a 28-point loss at Washington last
week, but added he did not find the mood unusual.
昨晚，Cheeks公開承認在球隊以28分輸給巫師的比賽後，更衣室裡傳出大聲的爭論，但是
他沒有發現其他不正常的氣氛。
Before last night's game against the Sacramento Kings, Cheeks addressed a
report on ESPN.com that quoted a league source as saying that Chris Webber
"went off in the Sixers' locker room" after the game, which the Wizards won,
104-76.
昨晚面對沙加緬度國王隊之前，Cheeks在ESPN.com發表了一篇文章。這篇文章引述了一個
傳聞－輸給巫師後，Chris Webber在七六人的更衣室裡大吼。
"Chris and I had a little exchange," Cheeks said, "but it was OK."

The report went on to say: "Webber yelled at coaches and players alike while
saying, in essence, he never gets the ball." It also said "it was clear
[Webber] was calling out" teammate Allen Iverson.

Webber acknowledged that there was some yelling going on, but believed he had
to do it.

Sixers' 109-103 win over Sacramento. "I'm a veteran. What am I supposed to do?
I've been cussed out by the best players. That's the locker room. That's your
family, and you have to be honest with your family."

Cheeks did not react to the details of the article, but said it was not unusual
for a team to be angry after getting blown out like the Sixers did on Jan. 16.

"When we lose by 28 or 30 points, there should have been several loud exchanges
after" the game, he said. "I don't think you would ever walk into a locker room
after a 28-point loss and have it be OK."

Cheeks told reporters after the game that he was unhappy with the effort. He
admitted last night that he raised his voice in his postgame talk with his
players.

"If it was not OK for me to raise my voice after that loss," he said, "when is
it OK?"

Cheeks said he didn't know if the "loud exchanges" helped his team. The Sixers
lost their next outing, two days later, to the New Jersey Nets, and Cheeks met
with his team in the locker room for 28 minutes after the game.

Cheeks said he did not think there was any dissension in the Sixers' locker
