Salmons to Depart
Restricted free agent John Salmons will soon no longer be a member of the
Sixers. At this point, it is just a matter of which team he winds up with.
“We’re waiting on Johnny to make a decision,” Sixers President Billy King
said. “We’re talking sign and trade, and he’s trying to decide on where
and which team he’s going to go to. We’ll end up getting a pick back.
“I think there’s two teams he’s looking at right now to make a decision
on. We’ll do a sign and trade with either one.”
Salmons, a Plymouth Whitemarsh High School graduate, played four seasons with
the Sixers and notched career high marks of 7.5 points a game and 24 starts
last season. He will likely yield a second-round pick.(冏)
“I think Johnny is someone who will have a good career in this league,”
King said. There are times that he played well.”

Roster Set
The Sixers released Jon Smith and Devin Smith on Wednesday and announced that
Tayron Thomas of Philadelphia University, who will have surgery on a right
lateral meniscus tear suffered during practice Monday, is no longer with the
team. They will carry all 12 of the players remaining to the Rocky Mountain
Revue. The Sixers will hold an evening session Wednesday after originally
canceling it and will convene one last time Thursday morning before departing
for Utah. Assistant coach John Loyer will direct the team during the
five-game schedule.
“I’m anxious to see these guys now in a game with referees,” King said.

Jon Smith 跟 Devin Smith 結束了在 Sixers 的夏令營，而在第二天受傷的
費城子弟 Tayron Thomas 宣佈將在下禮拜一進行手術。 John Loyer 會是這
五場賽事的教練。
