Firm hired to evaluate franchise's future
七六人沒有要賣，只是...　　
球團委託事務所 評估球隊走向


The 76ers are apparently not for sale, per se. But they're listening.
七六人並沒有真的要出售，不過他們張大了耳朵在聽。


With that, the Sixers and parent company Comcast-Spectacor have hired
a firm to review inquiries and potential bids.
為了因應不少前來打聽風聲的潛在買主，七六人球團和母公司委託一家事務所
審查各種提問和報價。

Chairman Ed Snider said in a statement yesterday that the company
hired a sports-investment firm to help evaluate alternatives for the
76ers' future, which could include a sale or new partnership for the
team.
董事長Ed Snider承認有請人來評估未來七六人是否要賣出或讓其他公司共同
持有股份。

"We have been approached by multiple parties interested in purchasing
the Philadelphia 76ers, particularly in the wake of recent press
speculation," Snider said.
「在最近媒體諸般揣測之下，有興趣購買球隊的一些對象已經和我們接洽」
Snider說。

"While this is not the first time we have received such inquiries, we
have decided to engage the services of Galatioto Sports Partners, an
industry-leading sports-investment firm, to help us evaluate our
strategic alternatives, including a sale or a new partnership. We
emphasize that no decision has been made to sell the 76ers."
「這並不是我們第一次接到類似的詢問，但現在有委託Galatioto Sports Partners

Yesterday, the Daily News reported that Peter Luukko, president and
chief operating officer of Comcast-Spectacor, denied the Sixers had a
$500 million asking price, as had been reported by WIP (610-AM).
母公司否認七六人開價五億美元。

As recently as December, Forbes magazine listed the Sixers with a
value of $351 million, 11th-highest in the NBA. The only teams ranked
above $500 million were the New York Knicks, at $543 million, and the
Los Angeles Lakers, at $529 million.
富比士雜誌估計七六人去年十二月的總值是三億五千一百萬美元，NBA排名第
十一。唯二身價超過五億美元的球隊是紐約尼克和洛杉磯湖人。

The Sixers' current ownership purchased the team from Harold Katz for
$130 million in April 1996. Katz had acquired the team from the late
F. Eugene "Fitz" Dixon for about $12 million in July 1981.
現在的經營團隊是96年四月購入七六人的，當時總價是一億三千萬，再前任的
球團是81年七月買下這支球隊的，那時候只有一百二十萬的身價。
