Posted on Sat, Oct. 27, 2007 Sixers' Hill out with knee injury By Marc Narducci INQUIRER STAFF WRITER http://tinyurl.com/2qxrvj 按: 當你看到 "torn cartilage" 跟 "Dr. Andrews", 可以開始阿彌陀佛了 -______________________________________________- 不想看鉅細靡遺的詳細說明就 End 吧,有 Dalembert 的消息。 Rookie center Herbert Hill, who has been one of the surprises of 76ers training camp, has suffered torn cartilage in his left knee and is out indefinitely. Hill will be operated on Tuesday in Birmingham, Ala., by noted surgeon James Andrews. Team physician Jack McPhilemy will travel to Birmingham to assist in the procedure. "Dr. Andrews is the best in the world, and we'll look at it and see what they want to do," Hill said after today's practice at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. "They didn't give me an estimate, but it usually doesn't take long." Acquired by the Sixers in a draft-day trade with Utah after being selected 55th out of Providence, Hill has opened eyes with his aggressive play. He averaged 4.2 rebounds in just 9.0 minutes while appearing in the first five preseason games. Before that, Hill had impressed the Sixers with his play during summer leagues in Las Vegas and Utah. Billy King, the Sixers' president and general manager, said the injury won't affect Hill's status with the team. The Sixers have 15 players on their roster, the maximum allowed in the NBA. Only 12 can dress for each game. King said he would not look for another big man because of Hill's injury. "We have seven bigs on the roster," he said. King added that big men in the NBA aren't in abundance, especially with the regular season about to begin. The Sixers will open Wednesday at Toronto against the Raptors. Hill said the injury was not caused by a specific play. He first complained of pain after Tuesday's practice. He said the knee tightened up later that afternoon on the team's train trip to New York for Wednesday's game against the Knicks. Hill was examined by a Knicks doctor and had an MRI. "I've never been hurt and never missed a game or even a practice," he said. As disappointed as he was, Hill looked at things on the positive side. "It could have been a lot worse," he said. "I could have torn a major ligament, so I look at this as a blessing in disguise." =========================Hill 生涯掰掰分隔線=========================== Dalembert at practice Center Samuel Dalembert returned to practice today but did not take part in contact drills. Dalembert said he hoped to take part in contact drills tomorrow. He last practiced on Oct. 11 after experiencing soreness from a stress fracture in his left foot. Dalembert said he was confident he could play in Wednesday's opener.
