It's uncommon that you get a big man with Speight's potential outside of the
lottery. He's one of the few players in this draft that really hasn't
established a ceiling as to how good he can actually be. We saw dramatic
improvements in his game during his time at Florida and with Elton Brand
mentoring him he's only going to get better. With Jason Smith out due to a
torn ACL Speights should be the main backup for Brand. The most important
thing for Marreese is that he's completely focused every night and stays out
of foul trouble.
