Stefanski: Sixers must keep 'tinkering'

Ed Stefanski stood on the corner of the 76ers' home floor before last night's
game against the Los Angeles Lakers and answered questions about why his team
has failed to live up to big expectations.

"We're obviously not happy we are 8-10," said Stefanski, the Sixers'
president and general manager. "No one in this locker room is happy, but I'm
not going to say we're shocked that we're 8-10."
"我們很明顯地對 8-10 這種 record 很不滿意。" Ed 說道，
"在休息室裡面沒有一個人是滿意的，但是我仍然不認為我們被 8-10 弄得信心全失。"
Stefanski said he, coach Maurice Cheeks, and everyone involved needed to
"keep tinkering" rather than make a sudden move.
Ed 說他跟 Mo 還有每一位七六人教練團都正在"抓漏"，
而這比起做出倉促的決定還要來得更有建設性。
The off-season acquisition of power forward Elton Brand has shifted the
identity of last-season's run-and-gun squad.
Elton Brand 帶來最大的改變影響是改變我們去年純粹以跑跑跑為主的比賽內容。

"We expect to be a good basketball team," Stefanski said. "We threw all our
eggs in one basketball - Elton Brand - and I would do it again in a New York
second."

The addition of Brand shifted Andre Iguodala to shooting guard, where he had
struggled through 18 games entering last night, shooting 25 percent from the
three-point line and averaging 13.7 points.
Brand 造成的改變還包括 Andre Iguodala 的低潮，
包括這場比賽在內的十八場比賽， 25% 的三分球命中率，
而且場均指拿下 13.7 分。
Does Stefanski think Iguodala is the answer at shooting guard?
所以 Stefanski 認為 Iggy 是二號位置的"答案"嗎？ (誤)
"I think it's too early to say what guy we would like to see replaced,"
Stefanski said. "We've asked a lot of A.I., moving him."
"我認為講什麼把誰換掉云云都太早，我們已經開始跟他溝通，讓他往對的方向前進。"
But Stefanski did say the Sixers are always looking at ways to make the team
better, always talking to teams about potential options. Stefanski also said
a team can "never have too much shooting."
不過 Ed 說過他持續不斷在尋找讓球隊變得更好的方式，
一直在跟不同的球隊接觸任何可能的選項。
Ed 也說過一支球隊不應該過度的濫射。
Yesterday, the 8-9 Toronto Raptors fired head coach Sam Mitchell.
昨天，暴龍隊的山姆大叔帶著 8-9 的 record 被請回家吃自己。
"I am kind of surprised at that," said Sixers coach Maurice Cheeks. "I
thought he was doing a good job, but this is the business we get into."
"我對這件事情感到吃驚 （那你還不把皮繃緊！）" Mo 說道。
"我覺得他做得不錯，但是這就是在商言商。"
Added Cheeks: "If we're not doing as well as some people think we should,
things happen."
不過 Cheeks 也補充："如果我們沒有做到所有人的期待，這的確會發生。"

Lou Williams played last night and had 15 points off the bench. He had been
listed as day-to-day after suffering a right abdominal strain in Tuesday's
win in Chicago.
