Collins Says He Talked To 76ers, Then Backtracks

TNT analyst Doug Collins told the Associated Press on Tuesday afternoon that
he had spoken to the 76ers about their vacant coaching job, but backtracked
later on.
Collins originally said that he had spoken "like two or three times" to the
76ers.
"Whatever they want to do, they know where I am if they want to call," he
added.
Then, during the Rockets-Lakers telecast, Collins backtracked and reversed
his original comments.
"I have not spoken to them. And I want them to understand that," Collins said
on TV. "I feel very badly if there was a miscommunication there at all.
"I apologize to Eddie Stefanski if they felt like I was putting something out
there that was not true," he added.
