Analysis: With Andre Miller hitting free agency this summer, look for the
Sixers to address the point guard position. Lou Williams is nice but not
really a lead guard. Maynor would give Philly the total package as one of the
most NBA-ready players in the draft.

Positives:
Super-quick point guard who knows how to get to the basket
Aggressive, fearless
Good strength despite his wiry frame
Good floor vision, takes care of the ball
An emerging shooter with 3-point range
Excellent on-the-ball defender
Great at playing the passing lanes, racks up the steals
Negatives:
Needs to continue to add strength
Needs more consistency from 3-point territory
Hasn't played against top tier talent
Sometimes tries to do too much
Summary:
Mar 23 Update: Maynor is another guy who came up big in a losing
effort. His play against one of the best perimeter defenders in the country,
UCLA's Darren Collison, showed that he can play on a bigger stage. He was one
17-footer away from leading VCU to a big first-round upset. It will be
interesting to see what happens to Maynor's stock now. A number of NBA
executives are very high on him and the UCLA game confirmed their opinions.
With strong workouts, he could work his way into the lottery.
Mar 18 Update: To me, Maynor would be the biggest draft sleeper. He has all
the tools to be an excellent NBA point guard. If he were playing for Duke or
Kansas, he'd be in the lottery conversation right now. If he can have a big
game in the opening round against UCLA, one of the top defensive teams in the
country, I believe he could crack the lottery in June.
Jan 2 Update: His strong play in the NCAA Tournament won him a lot of fans
among NBA scouts as a sophomore. He has a presence on the floor that's
undeniable. He had a good junior season, but didn't make the tournament and
failed to move his stock much. He needs to get back into the tournament to
get back in the first-round hunt in 2009.
