The date is Halloween. The venue is the Wells Fargo Center.
The event is the Sixers’ season opener of the 2012-13 season.
The question is who will be on the floor for the opening tip
wearing the home uniform? (We know Andre Iguodala will be
wearing a Nuggets’ road jersey).

主秀是七六人在主場迎戰丹佛金塊。
問題是誰將會在跳球的時候率先穿上主場球衣上場呢？
(不過有一件事情我們知道，Iguodala將會穿上客場球衣上場。)

Fourth-year player Jrue Holiday will be the starting point
guard. Andrew Bynum will be the starting center and Evan
Turner will be on the floor. After that, the Sixers’ opening
night lineup becomes a puzzle that is fun to try and solve.

One option is to play Turner at the small forward position,
which had he not been teammates with Iguodala the past two
seasons, would have likely been his regular spot for the team.

四年級控球後衛 Jrue Holiday 將會先發上場控球這不用說。
電車男將會幫忙跳球也不用說，
三年級榜眼 Evan Turner也會上場，這當然也不用說。
但是講完這些，七六人下一季的先發陣容還是有很多有去的拼圖，
並且將會引發很多有趣的討論。

有個選擇是讓 Turner 去打三號位置，
雖然過去兩年 Iguodala 一直都是不動三號，
但是有些人認為這比較像是Turner天生適合的位置。

That opens the shooting guard position for 11-year veteran
Jason Richardson, who has started 794 of the 805 games he has
played in his pro career. Richardson averaged 11.6 points in
30 minutes a night for the Magic last season.

Nick Young could give Richardson a run for his money as the
starting shooting guard. However, when the Sixers signed Young
this summer they viewed him as a replacement for Lou Williams,
who was entrenched as the team's sixth man under the Doug
Collins regime.

如果讓 Turner 擺上三號，
那二號的熱門競爭對手就是十一年老將 Jason Richardson，
在過去的 805 場出賽裡面他有 794 場擔綱先發。
他去年在魔術繳出了30分鐘 11.6 分差強人意的成績。

Nick Young 將會是這個情況下 J-Rich 的最大競爭者，
因為他簽下的是一年短約，他必須為了他明年的工作與薪水奮力一搏。
無論如何，當七六人簽下 NIck Young 的時候，
他們是將 Nick 當作是 Louis Williams 離隊的替代方案，
過去 Doug 總是將 Lou 放在第六人的位置，
而看起來Nick比較有可能接管他的任務：從板凳上來搶分。

The third perimeter combination could have Turner and Holiday
continue to grow together as the starting backcourt with
Dorell Wright playing the small forward position. Wright
started all 143 games he played with the Warriors the past two
seasons. His numbers were comparable to those of Richardson,
averaging 10.3 points in 27 minutes a game last season.

The options are plenty as all three wing additions are also
capable three-point shooters.

第三個外圍選項是將 Turner 跟 Holiday 放在一二號，
而讓 Dorell Wright 先發小前鋒，
Dorell Wright 是個專職的小前鋒，
他過去兩年在勇士的 143 場比賽全數都是先發。
他的數字完全比得上 J-Rich ，
他在過去兩季平均可以在 27分鐘拿下10.3分。
(按: 而且他的籃板效率也比J-Rich高)

不過重點是，在後場剩下的一個先發席位的競爭上，
將會有很多的彈性與選擇，因為這三個人都是很不錯得三分射手。

Elton Brand was the Sixers’ starting power forward for the
last four years. He is not a back-to-the-basket player,
preferring to shoot the baseline eight-foot jumper or mid-lane
10-footer. Brand's front-running replacement has similar
tendencies.

Brand 再過去四個球季幾乎都是七六人的先發四號。
他不是一個背框運作的球員，
而比較多是以8-10呎精準的跳投作為結束。
如果要找 Brand 的接班人，那他應該需要一些相似的能力。

Spencer Hawes has been the Sixers’ starting center the past
two seasons, but Collins believes Hawes can slide over to
power forward. He has a nice outside touch and is a terrific
passer. Bynum can man the low post, while Hawes can stretch
the defense. On occasions when the opposition has a quick
power forward, the Sixers will need to go to their bench
sooner with Thaddeus Young replacing Hawes on the floor.

Spencer Hawes 再過去兩季是七六人的先發中鋒，
但是 Doug Collins 相信 Hawes 能夠在四號位置上取得成功。
他擁有優秀的外圍投射能力，而且是個令人驚豔的傳球者。
當Bynum在低位作對抗的時候，那Hawes可以去解決另外一個人，
但是如果對手排出的是具有速度與機動性的四號時，
七六人可以讓 Thaddeus Young 出來替換 Hawes 角色。

There are three other big men on the roster in Lavoy Allen,
Kwame Brown and Arnett Moultrie, which puts playing time at a
premium in the frontcourt.

陣容名單上還有三個長人可供挑選，
Lavoy Allen, Kwame Brown, Arnett Moultrie都能吃上前場的時間。

Young is, according to Collins, starting lineup material. But
the lefty forward has anchored one of the best benches in the
league along with former Sixer Williams the past couple of
seasons. Chemistry and the best utilization of talent will
play a major factor in the roles any given player is handed
when the season gets underway.

而對 Collins 來說，Thad 也是具有先能力的，
但是這個左手前鋒在過去兩個球季，
與Louis Williams組成了可靠且優秀的板凳陣容。
在化學效應上，或者在最佳解答上，
Thad 將會在他最熟悉的位置上面提供主要的衝擊力量。

Collins loves competition. He will play the guys who earn
minutes and he will treat this drastically-changed roster as
he does his daily crossword puzzle – as a challenge that he
will solve.

Collins 非常喜愛且鼓勵球員之間的互相競爭。
他將會讓有表現的人掙得上場時間，甚至不惜大幅調整陣容，
並且將這樣的Roster組成與磨合視為他的自我挑戰。
