engineering teams, responsible for building high traffic, multimedia
content management systems and tools for publishing, data feeding,
and editorial functions for Yahoo! services worldwide,

Sr. Engineering Manager

Responsibility

    * Manage product development teams to develop and maintain Yahoo!
      Global News or Media products.
    * Provide technical guidance, design and develop highly reliable,
      reusable and scalable web-based applications.
    * Interface and coordinate with global and Asia regional engineering,
      product, business and other functional teams at Yahoo! offices
      worldwide.

Requirements

    * BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related discipline is required.
    * 7+ years of software development experience in Internet related
      industries.
    * 3+ years of experience managing software development teams.
    * Strong organizational skills and experience in coordinating distributed
      teams to conduct multiple projects.
    * Proven record of delivering results on time under resource constraints.
    * Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to both technical and
      non-technical audiences.
    * Fluency in English is a must.


Architect

Responsibility.

    * Architect highly reliable, scalable, extensible content management
      system for global media, in particular News system
    * Work closely with other media technology groups worldwide to define
      and drive architecture standard.
    * Work closely with development, QA and operation teams to provide
      technical guidance, design concept and patterns; improve product
      quality, overall system reliability, and maintainability.

Requirements

    * MS or PhD degree in Computer Science or related discipline is required.
    * Minimum 8 years of software development, architecture, and leadership
      experience.
    * In-depth understanding of software engineering models, methodology,
      engineering frameworks for large-scale software development.
    * In-depth understanding of operating systems, network systems, Internet
      technology, performance engineering, and design patterns.
    * Experience in building and operating distributed component-based
      software solutions.
    * Experience in open source and community development.
    * Experience in massive scale load balancing, clustering, and high
      availability systems.
    * Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
    * Fluency in English is a must.


Software Development Engineer

Responsibility.

    * Participate in all phases of software development from planning, design,
      implementation, testing, deployment, and day-to-day operation for global
      News or Media products.
    * Build high traffic multi-media content management system and applications
      for publishing, data feeding, and editorial functions.
    * Work closely with global teams worldwide to deliver high quality products.

Requirements

    * BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering or other related fields.
    * 3+ years of hands-on experience in software development.
    * Solid foundation in computer science essence fundamentals, including data
      structures, programming languages, algorithms, software engineering,
      database theory, and operating systems.
    * Advanced skills for software design and development.
    * Good knowledge of Internet application architectures and Protocols
      (TCP/IP, HTTP, etc. ).
    * Experience in object oriented software design and development
      (in PHP/C++/Java).
    * Strong knowledge of SQL, database schema design and at least one database
      environment (MySQL, Oracle)
    * Strong knowledge of Unix scripting languages (Bash/Perl/Python), Unix
      server administration, open source software, and Apache web server
      administration.
    * Experience in source code control procedures and environments (cvs,
      subversion, perforce).
    * Good knowledge of software engineering life cycle including design,
      development, build/release and QA.
    * Knowledge of high availability systems, memory management, I/O
      performance optimization, threads.
    * Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    * Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, and desire to learn new
      skills.
    * Ability to self-manage and prioritize work programs.


Front-end Engineer

Responsibility

    * Develop cross-browser, high quality web pages and components for News or
      other Media products.
    * Work closely with visual and interaction designers, product managers and
      back-end engineers to implement front-end features.

Requirements

    * BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related fields.
    * 3+ years of hands-on experience in HTML, CSS, Javascript or AJAX.
    * Strong skills in writing, testing and debugging cross-browser compatible
      codes on different platforms.
    * Experience or knowledge in DOM, Object Oriented Programming, PHP, and
      Web industry standards.
    * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    * Fluency in English is highly desirable.


Quality Assurance Engineer

Responsibility

    * Work closely with software developers and product managers to understand
      product features. Participate in product requirement, design and spec
      reviews.
    * Develop and execute test plans and test cases.
    * Design, maintain and enhance test framework and environment to facilitate
      manual or automated functional and performance tests.

Requirements

    * BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related fields.
    * Experience in full software life cycle and delivery mechanisms.
    * Experience in bug tracking and reporting tools,
    * Experience in source code control, SVN preferred.
    * Experience in unit testing, PHPunit peferred.
    * Experience in using test tools like Selenium, TestLink, Silk or other
      leading products to design and implement automated tests. Selenium is a
      plus.
    * Experience in creating API level automation and i18N testing
    * Experience in load and performance testing of web application
    * Knowledge in front-end and back-end technologies: Javascript, AJAX, HTML,
      CSS, Java, Linux, Apache, PHP.
    * Ability to work against extremely tight deadlines
    * Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
    * Strong organizational, written & verbal communication skills.
    * Fluency in English is highly desirable.
