My dad sent me this. He works at a bank and sees a lot of people come through
the door..thought it was a great story, and figured you guys would like it.

我爸給我這個故事。他在一間銀行任職，什麼樣的人都見過，而他認為這是個很棒的故事。

An inspirational story about David Robinson - written recently by a
woman who works for P.F. Chang's in San Antonio .

這個鼓舞人心的故事是跟大羅有關的 — 最近一名任職於P.F. Chang's的婦人寫的。

For those of you who are familiar with basketball, you certainly know the name
David Robinson...He is an American NBA basketball player, who played center
for the San Antonio Spurs for his entire NBA career. He won the MVP trophy in
1995, and in 1996 he was named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History.
He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame along with Michael Jordan,
John Stockton, Jerry Sloan, and C. Vivian Stringer on September 11, 2009.

對籃球熟悉的球迷都知道他是誰，你肯定聽過David Robinson這個名字...

他是個NBA球員，終其球員生涯都待在聖安東尼奧馬刺隊。

他在1995年得到MVP，而1996年他獲選為NBA歷史上50大球星之一。

他在2009年9月11日與Michael Jordan, John Stockton, Jerry Sloan以及C. Vivian

Stringer一同進入籃球名人堂。

Robinson resides in San Antonio, TX. Having been in the restaurant industry for
the last few years I have had the good fortune of meeting David Robinson, Malik
Rose, and a few other Spurs players. A few weeks ago, Mr. Robinson came into
P.F. Chang's to dine with his family. He was kind, courteous, and very patient
with all of the fans who asked him for autographs. I was impressed, even with
people bugging him during his meal, he held a happy face and patient demeanor
with all of the people he spoke with.

大羅住在德州的聖安東尼奧。最近幾年投入餐飲業。我曾有幸遇見過大羅、黑玫瑰以及

一些馬刺球員。幾星期前，大羅與他的家人來到P.F. Chang's用餐。他親切、有禮貌，

而且對所有向他索取簽名的球迷們極具耐心。我印象深刻的是即使人們在他用餐的時候

來煩擾他，他仍舊擺著一張笑臉有風度地對待他們。

Today Mr. Robinson visited P.F's again. And again, he was ever-so patient with
the fans...he signed autographs, and snapped pictures.Right as he was about to
leave, a young woman approached him and told him the story of how her brother
was killed by a drunk driver just a few days ago, and the wake was today. She
explained that her brother was a huge Spurs and David Robinson fan, and having
never had the opportunity to meet him, she asked for an autograph on her
brother's funeral program. Of course Mr. Robinson was very sympathetic, and you
could tell, the woman was exceptionally emotional and it took a lot of courage
to approach him to request his autograph. He signed the paper, and what he did
next blew me away......

今天大羅又來P.F. Chang's用餐了。他又再次極具耐心地幫粉絲們簽名、合照。正當他

要離開時，一名年輕婦人靠近他並向他述說一個故事 — 她的兄弟幾天前如何被一個酒

駕司機撞死的故事，而她今天才獲知這消息。


她說她死去的兄弟是個超級馬刺迷，同時也是大羅的粉絲，但他從沒遇見過大羅，她索

取大羅的簽名，以讓她兄弟的喪禮得以圓夢。


當然，大羅很是同情，看得出來這名婦人當下情感很脆弱，且花了很大的勇氣去向大羅

索取簽名。


大羅在紙上簽了名，然後接下來做了件令我震驚的事...

He asked her if he could pray with her...With tears in her eyes she said,
"Yes, Please". He wrapped his Giant basketball player hands around hers...and
together they bowed their heads. Blocking out all of the people, noise, and
traffic around him, he prayed a long and heartfelt prayer aloud, asking God for
strength for her and her family in their time of loss, and for the protection
of her brother. I could see in concentration that he was speaking directly to
God, and that he meant every word.

他問她，他是否能與她一起祈禱...

她眼框含淚，說「是的，拜託你」。

他用他那打籃球的巨大手掌包著她的手掌...然後一起低頭祈禱。

阻絕了人群、噪音，以及他週遭的一切瑣事，他大聲祈禱了很久並衷心地祈求上帝給予

慟失親人的她與她的家人們力量，並保護她的兄弟讓他得以安息。

我專注地聽著他直接提及神以及他所意指的每一個字。

Though this whole encounter only took just a few minutes, it was truly amazing.
When he walked out the door I stood in awe, I was truly inspired by this man.
Though he is a famously accomplished athlete, he offered a sense of peace and
calm to a woman who had just suffered a devastating loss.. I'm sure that moment
will live in her heart forever.

儘管這只是短短幾分鐘的邂逅，但那真令人吃驚。當他步出敬畏的我所站的門時，我確

實受到這個人的激勵。儘管他是出了名有教養的運動員，他給人一種平和的感覺而且還

安撫一名才剛慟失親人的婦人...我確信這一刻將永遠活在那名婦人的心中。

My heart was warmed by one simple human interaction, and it made me think of
the amazing power that one hug, touch, kind word, or Prayer can provide. With
so much concentration on money, cars, name-brands, and possessions, I am
overjoyed to know that there are kind-hearted, moral, professional athletes,
such as Mr. Robinson who can be positive role-models for our youth.

我的內心因一位樸實無華的人而感到溫暖，並讓我想起一個擁抱、接觸、體貼的話語，

或是祈禱所能產生的驚人力量。隨著對錢、車子、名牌以及財物的熱衷，我很高興我認

識如大羅這般兼具仁慈、道德的職業運動員，絕對是當下年輕人的表率。

David Robinson is a true inspiration. And...I'm so happy I eavesdropped today
I thought this story was most definitely worthsharing.

David Robinson就是一個活生生的例子。而我很高興我今天聽到這樣一個故事。

我認為這故事絕對值得與您共享。
