Parker's injury yields settled starting unit

OKLAHOMA CITY — Unless, and until, Tony Parker's broken right hand heals
enough for him to suit up again for the Spurs, the lineup that has started
the last eight games will be on the floor at tipoff the rest of the season.

  除非Parker受傷的右手痊癒重回馬刺陣容，否則接下來的先發名單將大致底定了。

“That's our starting lineup,” Spurs coach Gregg Popoich said. “I am
comfortable with that lineup.”

That lineup has George Hill at point guard, Manu Ginobili at shooting guard,
Antonio McDyess at center, Tim Duncan at power forward and Richard Jefferson
at small forward.

Jefferson “tweaked” his left knee in the first half of Sunday's game at
Atlanta and had some residual pain when he awakened Monday. Popovich
considered starting Keith Bogans at small forward in Monday's game against
the Thunder at the Ford Center but stuck with Jefferson after the first-year
Spur declared his knee sound an hour before tip.

Having used 22 different starting lineups this season, Popovich said finally
settling on one has provided needed stability.

“You bet, sure,” he said. “I wish we'd had that set two months ago. We've
actually reacted like a real team for the last three to four weeks. We've had
our Spurs basketball team, the way we're used to it.

“By that I mean we're playing together, supporting each other,
communicating, backing each other on the court and off the court, that sort

Observing Hill: Parker has been paying close attention to Hill as he has
filled in at the point during Parker's extended recovery.

“He's doing pretty well,” Parker said. “It's pretty tough to run the team
and run Pop's systems. I think he's doing a good job. He was playing (the)
two for about 30 games, and now he's playing point guard. Point guard and two
are really different, especially in our system.”

Popovich has been pleased with Hill's performance under difficult
circumstances. He has asked the second-year guard from IUPUI to take command
of the Spurs' offense and become the team's leader on the floor, and believes
he is beginning to get more comfortable with that role.

  對於Hill在困難情勢下的表現，波波表示: 欣慰。他叫一個二年級生一肩挑起馬刺場

“George has done well,” Popovich said. “He's not naturally a real
talkative, towel-waving individual. Knowing that, I give him a lot of credit
for trying to be the leader with the basketball on the court and not
deferring to Manu or Timmy or anyone else, and trying to do his best to run
the team.

“He's getting better at it all the time. He's talking more, communicating
more, making decisions, calling some plays out there without my having to
tell him what to do.”

之下，在場上自行下達戰術」
