每年NBA大大小小的獎項中，MIP(最佳進步球員，Most Improved Player)獎落誰家
總是最難頒的獎項。
問題在於: 該用什麼標準(來評量)?
投票者們可能只著眼於帳面數字作為判斷依據，而非真正的成長情況。交易、傷兵
都可能使判斷的結果失真。
當然，藉此類機會而有所表現的球員們，他們的表現不應被忽視。在2000-01賽季，
當Tracy McGrady從暴龍隊 — 以Vince Carter為得分看板人物 — 跳到魔術隊時，那
時候他是球隊的頭號得分手，他的場均得分從11.4分，跳至26.8分。他得到了MIP，而
幾乎可說是當之無愧。
事實上，各位置防守上的貢獻無法藉由量化來評價。
