Go Spurs Go~
Late in the first half Thursday night, when everything was still looking so
easy that the Spurs might well have starting booking rooms in Phoenix and
Portland, George Hill slipped behind the Dallas defense on a fast break and
took a no-look pass from Tony Parker.
星期四晚上，上半場進入尾聲，馬刺好像已經可以開始預訂太陽對拓荒者的門票了，

it was one that I missed.”

It took another two quarters, and the survival of one more desperate comeback
from the NBA's most resilient team, but the Spurs would eventually leave the
AT&T Center smiling again.

With their 97-87 victory in Game 6, the Spurs closed out the Mavericks,
becoming the first seventh seed in NBA history to bounce a second seed from a
best-of-7 series.

淘汰第二種子的球隊。
Back in the Western Conference semifinals after a one-year hiatus, the Spurs
will face the Phoenix Suns, with Game 1 set for Monday in Phoenix at 9:30 p.m.
“It was a huge series,” Manu Ginobili said. “But we aren't satisfied.”
Ginobili scored 26 points to lead the Spurs, Tim Duncan had 17 points and 10
rebounds and Hill shook off a basketless first half to notch 17 of his 21
points in the second.
回到西區準決賽，在睽違了一年的時間以後，馬刺準備在星期一的晚上9:30對上鳳凰城

Like Hill's early botched layup, Thursday's eliminator was easier said than
done.

The Spurs were up 22-8 after the first 12 minutes, tying a franchise
postseason record for points allowed in a quarter, and midway through the
second had raced to a 41-19 lead.

Dirk Nowitzki was in foul trouble, having picked up his fourth foul with 4:49
to play. The Mavs looked finished. The Spurs, meanwhile, had played “almost
perfect,” Ginobili said.

With their season on the line, the Mavericks nearly pulled off a comeback for
the ages.

Nowitzki got hot on his way to 33 points, and little-used rookie Frenchman
Rodrigue Beaubois got hot en route to 16.
Up 47-34 at half, the Spurs' lead shrunk to eight, and then five, then four,
then two. When Nowitzki swished a trailing 3 with 4:59 to go in the third,
the Mavs went up 57-56.
司機手感發燙，得到33分，而小試身手的波霸也得到16分。

Dallas' only lead of the game lasted 22 seconds. Ginobili answered with a
3-pointer, Duncan followed with a basket.
With the Spurs ahead 70-63, Hill matched Nowitzki with 10 fourth-quarter
points. His biggest basket, a corner 3 with 3:19 remaining, put the Spurs up
89-81.
不過小牛只領先了22秒，因為Manu立刻用一個三分球回應，Duncan再以一個上籃補刀。
當馬刺以70-63領先時，Hill第四節在司機面前得了十分。最重要的一球是剩下3:19時

“That was my favorite part of the game,” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said.
“To see the guys continue to persevere.”

The Mavs' rally did not really end until the 45-second mark, when with Dallas
down five, Tony Parker stripped Beaubois. Ginobili then hit six free throws
to seal the game and send the Spurs to the next round.
小牛的反撲還沒有真正結束，一直到比賽剩下45秒時，小牛落後五分，Parker從Beaubois

After the game, someone asked if perhaps the 50-win Spurs are the greatest
seventh seed of all time.

“I don't think that's a compliment, is it?” Duncan said.
Duncan說：「我不覺得這是恭維耶...」
Compliment or not, Duncan will take it. A year after missing the second round
for the first time when healthy, Duncan is relieved to still be playing.
不管是不是恭維，Duncan還是接受了。第一次在健康的狀態下錯過第二輪比賽的一年之後
，只要還有在比賽，他就已經覺得很放心了。
It will be another long offseason for the 55-win Mavericks, who have been
bounced in the first round for the third time in four seasons. The one
exception was last year's first-round victory over the Spurs.
對於55勝的小牛來說，這會是一個漫長的暑假，在過去四個球季裡面，這已經是第三次
第一輪就打包回家了。唯一的一次例外就是去年第一輪淘汰馬刺。
“If you can't win one game on the road, you don't deserve to win the series,”
Nowitzki said.

As the Mavericks left Thursday bemoaning their missed opportunity, one Spurs
player left laughing about his. That botched layup?
當小牛隊離開球場，哀悼他們的輸球時，有一個馬刺球員卻在笑，笑什麼？笑他自己的
上籃放槍嗎？
“I thought the way I missed it was kind of funny,” Hill said.
Hill說：「我想我放槍的樣子應該滿好笑的吧。」
He will be laughing all the way to Phoenix.
