Yes, the Spurs still have one more game left in the regular season,
tonight at Golden State. It’s a nuisance, really. With apologies
to the folks at TNT, which has inexplicably decided to go through
with a broadcast of the game in Oakland instead of replacing it with
Law and Order reruns, nobody in Spurs Nation really cares  about
Spurs-Warriors right now.

Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili won’t be anywhere near
Oracle Arena tonight. Neither will Gregg Popovich.

It’s all about Spurs-Jazz, the first-round playoff series that opens
Sunday at the AT&T Center (tipoff time TBA). With that in mind, here
are some early thoughts and notes about that series:

* The top-seeded Spurs won three out of four against the eighth-seeded
Jazz this season. Utah’s only win in the series was 91-84 on April 9
in Salt Lake City, when Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker did
not make the trip and Paul Millsap got his Jockeys in a bunch. Gregg
Popovich chose to rest his Big Three that night after beating the Jazz
114-104 the night before in San Antonio.

本季馬刺爵士交手，馬刺拿三場勝利，爵士唯一一場勝利是4月9日在鹽湖城主場，該
場比賽馬刺休了三個(Duncan, Manu, Parker)，Millsap該場表現不盡理想，前一場

* Jerry Sloan is more than a year into retirement, but under Ty Corbin
– a former Sloan protege — the Jazz still carry some of their former
coach’s characteristics. They are tough. They are physical. They are
not always pretty. They like to leave a mark. Utah’s big lineup that
includes a front court of 7-0 Derrick Favors, 6-10 Al Jefferson and 6-9
 Paul Millsap could pose matchup problems.

* So on paper, this series probably isn’t for DeJuan Blair. Except the
Spurs’ 6-7 center averaged 15 points and 7.3 rebounds against the Jazz
this season, better than his season numbers. I’d still expect to see more
 of Tiago Splitter and Boris Diaw in this series, as the Spurs attempt to
match size.

時間，Tiago Splitter跟跟Boris Diaw被預期會有比較多上場時間，才能跟這群肌肉

備註：既然回來修改，也幫Blair平反一下，其實原文是說Blair對上爵士肌肉組合
表現並沒有比較差，平均15分7.3籃板反而比他平均更好。

* This is a rematch of the 2007 Western Conference finals series the Spurs
 won in five games. Only four Spurs players remain from that team (the Big
Three, plus Matt Bonner). Millsap and C.J. Miles are the only remaining
Jazz men.

這是2007年西區總冠軍賽的重演，當年馬刺以五場拿下該輪比賽，當時跟現在，僅有
四位球員還在馬刺，包含三巨頭跟Coach Bonner，爵士則是Millsap跟 CJ Miles都參

* Did you know Utah had the NBA’s fourth-highest scoring team in the NBA
this season? They averaged 99.7 points per game, just behind Denver,
Oklahoma City and San Antonio. Only one playoff team, however, allows more
points than the 99.1 the Jazz give up per game. Congratulations, Nuggets!

你知道爵士是本季平均得分第四的球隊嗎?只落後於金塊、雷霆跟馬刺，但在有進季後
賽的名單中，爵士也是失分最多的第二，他們只輸給金塊～

* Utah is tough up front between Jefferson (19.4 ppg, 9.7 rpg) and Millsap
(16.6 ppg, 8.8 rpg), but a lack of perimeter shooting should make life hard
on the Jazz in this series. Utah shoots just 32.3 percent from 3-point range,
 third-worst in the league. The Spurs are the NBA’s top 3-point team at
39.5 percent.

爵士的前場肌肉組合很暴力，Jefferson 19.4分9.7籃板，Millsap 16.6分8.8籃板
但爵士的外圍投射不太好，這一點可能會在第一輪產生一些關鍵影響，爵士本季3分

* Utah is the NBA’s third-best rebounding team, behind only Chicago and
the L.A. Lakers. Off and on, rebounding has been problematic for the Spurs
at times this year. Got to keep the Jazz off the glass.

不過爵士抓籃板很生猛，平均為全聯盟第三，只落後公牛跟湖人，而馬刺這一年時常為
籃板問題頭痛，第一輪勢必得將爵士卡在禁區外～

* Gordon Hayward is the X-factor for the Jazz. The second-year swingman from
Butler is averaging 17.2 points and shooting 50 percent from 3-point range in
April.

爵士的X因子應該是Gordon Hayward，這個二年級生在四月份平均得分17.2，且三分線
外命中率達到50%。

* Momentum matters. Last season, the Spurs stumbled into the playoffs
unhealthy and losers of eight of their final 12 games. This season, the
Spurs are moderately healthy (save for Gary Neal’s sore shoulder) and have
a chance to carry a 10-game winning streak into the playoffs. Utah won 8 of
12 in April, and finished on a four-game winning streak.

上季的馬刺帶者不夠健康的團隊，且在最後12場輸掉8場進入季後賽；相較起來，本季
馬刺很健康，雖然斑馬回動物園休養，並且可能會帶者10連勝踏進季後賽(已經成立)
爵士也在四月12場比賽贏了8場，並且最後一波也拉出五連勝。雙方氣勢都不錯，就看
