Tzadik (1): 作曲家系列Composer Series

Tzadik (由John Zorn於1995年在紐約創立的個人音樂品牌) 的"作曲家
系列" (Composers Series) 收錄了一些目前活躍於紐約前衛爵士樂壇的
樂手/作曲家作品- 特別是這批以Knitting Factory, Tonic, CBGB和
Roulette為基地，被Downbeat雜誌稱為紐約下城爵士樂派 (Downtown
Jazz/ School) 的年輕樂手 (這其實就是 1940s到1960s年代 Bop和
Free Jazz樂手群聚於Five Spot, Minton Playhouse, Jazz Workshop,
Blackhawk, Birdland和Village Vanguard 的變形及延伸)。
而這個系列則包含了Downtown School巨星Shelly Hirsch 和David
Shea在美國本土的個人首張專輯錄音。此外，也包括了已建立特殊實
驗樂風的作曲家，如: Alvin Curran, Richard Teitelbaum, Mark Feldman,
及 Arnold Dreyblatt等人的錄音 (他們的作品之前都只散見於New
Albion, Lovely Music, Hat Art 及 JMT等廠牌)。
