Sounds like English is not fun! Don't worry!
English class, especially "Literature Appreciation", is only for those
who may have problems with their brains.
Novels are only fun and meaningful when we read them for ourselves,
not, and never, for classes!
I took first year English (because it was a must), and I got the highest mark
I could every got in English...72%...
Because the prof is a feminist (I am so glad I was in a certain
"club" when I was in TFG..), I just apply my knowledge to every
one of my essays..
It all boils down to one thing:
"Men are insecure about their sexuality.
Their masculinity were threatened because ...example...
Therefore they act....certain way..."
and apply elementary Sigmound Freud stuffs..
voila!
everything about English lit ---
Love, sex and death.
trust me on that...and...sex is everywhere...
(That is how my high school english teacher explains Shakespeare.
Sometimes I didn't understand that there was a sexual reference untill
I saw some people trying not to laugh...)
