I was in 南竿 from 1976 through 1978. It was the biggest
islet in Matsu. It was not bad at all, much better than 北竿,
東引, 東莒, 西莒, 高登, and other even smaller islets. So you
should feel blessed. If you are not too materialistic, you can
take advantage of this precious chance to nurture your character
and strengthen your physical health, as well as read more extensively.
Anyway, think of it as a excellent retreat. Don't forget to bring back
a few bottles of 大麴 liquor, O. K.?
