The goverment has announced that it plans to built a new unversity. Some
people think that your community would be a good place to locate the
university. Compare the advantages and disadvantages of establishing a new
university in your community. Use specific details in your discussion.

Most people in our community hope that there is one university right here
because they think of the advantages. However, there are either some
disadvantages brought by it.
A new university could bring more students. While these students live in the
dormitories near the school, they would spend money on daily requirement.
As they have meals, buy things what they use everyday and fuel up the cars
nearby, this could make the surrounding business flourishing. Moreover,
campus itself is a huge park. It offers the residents a playground and
courts for exercise. Besides, there might be some activities take place in
the school such as an art exhibition, a ball game, a seminar or a speach.
By taking part in these activities, residents could gain knowledge and
enjoy their leisure time.
However, there are some disadvantages. A campus of university might take a
large area of land. If our community doesn't need an university at all,
the land could be used for other purpose. For example, what we need might be
business districts instead of a school, because business can provide more
opportunities of jobs than a school do. Further, if this is an university that
doesn't choose their students and teachers carefully, these people might cause
trouble in the community. Moreover, as the university brings more people to
live nearby, it also brings pollution such as noise and garbage.
I think it is hard to say if there are absolute advantages or disadvantages.
It depends on real situation. How can an university match up with a community?
Except building a school, lots of other facilities are still need to be built
and also some rules to be established .
