"Wang pitched very good against us,"Gardenhire said. "He located the ball, had a great sinker today and the ball was diving. He also had a good slider. He shut us down pretty well." The Twins were able to add one more run on a Luis Rodriguez RBI double in the eighth, but that was it for the offense. Part of the problem was that despite putting together 11 hits on the day, the team left a total of 16 runners on base. Though Gardenhire didn't seem to be too concerned with his team's lack of offensive effort on Sunday, it appears that the struggles of designated hitter Rondell White have almost gotten tothe point where Gardenhire is ready to make a change in the batting order to try to help the veteran hitter. An 0-for-4 effort on Sunday from White brought his season batting average to .085. It has been a struggle that is difficult for the entire team and Gardenhire to watch, considering White is one of the most upbeat platers on the squad. "He's scuffing a little bit and we all see that," Gardenhire said. "Every day we put him out there, we think it's going to be the day he blasts out of it. Now,hw's just obviously net seeing the ball good.He hasn't biin in this type of funk in his career to start out a season." White will get a day of rest to forget about his recint struggles, as the twins have Monday off before finishing out the nine-game homestand with three contests against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. "We have a day off, which is needed," Gardenhire said. "The guys are a little sore ,and we'll come back Tuesday and go at another good team again." The good news is that the team will face the Angels feeling like they have proven that this team has turned a corner from the one that started the vear with a 1-5 record. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 59.120.231.19
