是的 你的理解跟文章有點出入 gypsum指的是兩層marine fossils中間的鹽層

所以gypsum不是在open-ocean形成的。

這句話會理解不出來 是因為中文跟英文表達方式的不懂
這裡說得palm downward是指用掌心去壓印 palm upward是指用掌背去壓印
整句話翻譯 他也必須先假設這些掌印是用左手掌心壓出來的, 用左手掌背去壓得話
看起來就像是用右手（掌心）壓出來的
