陸續有許多戰友詢問何時需要做筆記
基本上跟上課一樣 自己比較聽不懂或是會忘掉的地方就做筆記
如果是習慣先作題目的同學
遇到只出 句子改寫.單字題的段落
就稍微留意一下重點
以免summary時因為對該段落缺乏印象 (因為單字直接選答案 沒看文章)
所以選錯
另外TPO中存在某些文章 有某一個段落都沒出選項
但是summary 中確有相關的內容

請問這是在問什麼呢？
在找答案之前先看清楚選項
這個敘述中有一個跟其他3個特別不一樣
They held different values than the people of Rome.
這是違反常理的選項
因為這一段就是在說羅馬起源地 與羅馬精神的關連
怎麼可能說他們的價值觀與羅馬人不同呢？
其他3個選項其實是這樣的
A: based on trade relations
C: Agriculture
D: knowledge of animal instincts
排除B A.C.D 其實是問 羅馬的生活基礎是 ？
A=商 , C=農 , D=牧
答案在哪裡呢？
文章並不是獨立的 教大家筆記得原因就是要方便回憶上一段
2段末 有數個平行句 不過核心是這一個觀念
The Greeks were wedded to the sea; the Romans, to the land.
很顯然這一段的內容呼應 要瞭解羅馬 就要瞭解他們與土地的關係
(S1 V ; S2 , )這個,是代動詞 代替前方出現的動詞
Latins who founded Rome originated
羅馬的發源地 所以當然影響了羅馬人B不會是錯的
就是這種 對陸地的依賴 環境造成羅馬文化的一切 後面都是列舉 請略讀
再來注意 這些生活方式也產生了羅馬軍事組織 與 精神特質

看到了嗎 都寫出deep了 deep attachment 深深的依賴 不正是 最高級考點嗎？
(最高級考點並不限於the most , 還記得上次遇到TPO19 with a peak )
為何需要土地 為何要爭土地 因為他們依賴的是 rural life 農村生活的安定阿

您可能習慣只抓每段的第一句然後做題目
或常常選到似乎看見過的選項
請回頭看一下 原文3段第一句寫的是almost instinct
不是 animal instincts
這是ETS利用文字相似性設計的小陷阱

請小心這裡用的是3個名詞 + 3個同位語 (定義 a X of)
不是6個性質
Roman virtues :
1. gravitas = a sense of responsibility,
2. peitas= a sense of devotion to family and country, and
3. iustitia= a sense of the natural order.
