Although是副詞子句連接詞，後面引導的是一個有主詞跟動詞的句子；despite則是介係
詞片語，後面接的是詞類須為名詞片語或所有格來作為介系詞的受詞。原po文中提到的兩
個句子的英文句子參考翻譯大致如下：
（1）Although Ming gets hurt, he says it doesn't matter.
（2）Despite being hurt, Ming says it doesn't matter.
另外，Despite不能接of，如果想要用of表達儘管的意思，須把Despite改為In spite of
才行，相關例句可以至Longman的網站查詢。

有人推文說Despite + that就等同於although嗎？

從意思上來看，儘管跟雖然這兩個連接詞在中文的意思與用法都是差不多的，中文似乎
沒有很嚴謹的差異在，所以上述兩個英文例句中的英文用法不同，但是兩者意思一樣，
如果想要把上頭例句（2）改成跟Althogh的用法一樣的話，可以改為：
（3）Despite the fact that Ming gets hurt, he says it doesn't matter.
從簡潔的角度來看，例句（2）用較少的文字表達出同樣的意思。
