這是經過簡化過後的題目 此題的原句如下:
The forethough and planning which are invested at each step of writing
a proposal will have a direct impact on the chances of its acceptance.
步驟一: 把關系代名詞[which]拿掉
步驟二: [are]改[being] 同時也可省略掉
步驟三: 判斷關係代名詞後面緊接的動詞是被動[Vpp]還是主動[Ving]
(由題意得知forethough跟planning是被投入的 所以選擇[Vpp])
P.S. 被動式的公式 = (be) + [Vpp]
最後所剩下來的就是
The forethough and planning invested at each step of writing
a proposal will have a direct impact on the chances of its acceptance.
至於說 [invest] 為何不能選呢?
因為一個簡單句(意即沒有連接詞的狀況下)不能同時存在兩個動詞 (使役動詞例外)
ex: I ask Peter help me. (X)
ex: I ask Peter to help me. (O) ( 此處 to help 變成[to V]即不定詞
ex: I ask Peter to help me and tell me something. (O)

因此 本題若是填入 [invest] 則會與[have] 強碰 (will+原形動詞
