172-176 refer to the following article 引用自:http://tinyurl.com/29kbb4d (隨時更新) Last month, the world was surprised to learn that GuoYi had been choosen as this year's Fenway Park winner. Last night in his acceptance speech, the relatively unknown Taiwanese writer claimed that he was as surprised as anyone. "I will probably be shocked for the rest of my life," he joked to an audience of 800. But he quickly continued. "This is also an honor that I will cherish for the rest of my life." Although he is the author of over 30 novels, the sixty-five-year-old GuoYi has never enjoyed much fame. When he was first published at the age of 25, he told the crowd, he was happy if even a single book sold. For the first 20 years of his career, he only had time to write at night, as he was supporting his family by working as a legal clerk during the day. It was during this period that he began exploring the powerful themes of social justice and human compassion that have characterized his work. "Because my works are more philosophical in nature and not packed with action, there hasn't been a large market for them," the author conceded. But all that is about to change. Since last month's announcement, GuoYi has received several offers to have his books translated into other languages, beginning with his latest work, GuoYi's TOEIC Bible. The Fenway Park is awarded annually to authors who have demonstrated outstanding artistic accomplishments in works related to scoail justice. The prize is named for David Ortiz, a respected judge from Boston who established the Justice Foundation in 1952 to address issues of global inequality. 172. What is true about Mr. GuoYi?
