On May 21, 1881, a small group of tennis club members met at
the Fifth Avenue Hotel in New York City to form the world’s
first national governing body for tennis: the United States
National Lawn Tennis Association. The new organization was
created to standardize tennis rules and regulations and to
encourage and develop the sport. In 1920, "National" was
dropped from the name, and in 1975, the name was further
shortened to the current United States Tennis Association
(USTA).
USTA為主辦US Open單位
嗯,早期是美國國家草地網球協會,1920和1975先後拿掉了"草地"和"國家"兩字
1975年由草地換成紅土,三年後再改成硬地(Flushing Meadows)。
精華區賽事歷史內文有語病及瑕疵隨後補正。
